Why Is My IVG Pro Not Working? Common Problems and Simple Fixes

There's never a convenient time for your vape to stop working. Whether your IVG Pro has suddenly stopped producing vapour, isn't charging properly or simply doesn't seem to be performing as it should, it's easy to assume the device has developed a fault.

Fortunately, that isn't usually the case.

Having helped countless customers with IVG Pro devices, we've found that most issues are caused by everyday things such as a depleted battery, an empty refill or a refill that hasn't been fitted correctly. These are all straightforward to check and, in many cases, can be resolved within a few minutes without replacing the device itself.

Before deciding your IVG Pro Kit has reached the end of its life, work through the checks below. Chances are you'll have it back up and running much sooner than you expect.

Most IVG Pro Problems Are Easier to Fix Than You Think

Rechargeable pod systems are designed differently to disposable vapes. Because the battery is intended to be reused with replacement refills, there are more components working together to deliver a consistent vape. If you're new to the IVG Pro system, it's worth understanding how IVG Pro Refills work before troubleshooting any issues, as it explains how the refill, mesh coil and rechargeable battery all work together.

Once you understand how the system operates, it's much easier to identify what's causing the problem. If one part isn't performing as expected, the whole device can appear to stop working.

The good news is that genuine hardware faults are relatively uncommon. More often than not, there's a logical explanation that doesn't require replacing the entire device.

For example, a battery that hasn't been charged for a while won't provide enough power to heat the mesh coil. Likewise, an empty refill can leave users wondering why their IVG Pro has stopped producing vapour, even though the battery is still fully charged. Something as simple as a refill that's not fully seated can also interrupt the connection between the battery and the pod.

Rather than replacing the device immediately, it's worth spending a few minutes working through the most common causes first.

Start With the Two Things That Cause Most Issues

Whenever someone contacts us because their IVG Pro isn't working, the first questions we ask are surprisingly simple.

Is the battery charged?

Has the refill reached the end of its lifespan?

These two checks solve the majority of issues.

Rechargeable batteries naturally discharge over time, particularly if the device hasn't been used for a day or two. Even if the battery indicator was showing charge previously, connecting the device to a USB-C charger for a short period is always a sensible place to start.

If charging doesn't change anything, turn your attention to the refill.

Unlike disposable vapes, the IVG Pro is designed so the refill is replaced while the battery is kept for continued use. As the refill empties, you'll usually notice a gradual decline in performance before it stops producing vapour altogether.

Common signs that your refill needs replacing include:

  • Flavour becoming noticeably weaker.
  • Less vapour than usual.
  • A dry or burnt taste.
  • The device activating but producing very little vapour.

If you're experiencing one or more of these symptoms, fitting a fresh IVG Pro Refill is often all that's needed to restore normal performance.

If Charging and Replacing the Refill Doesn't Help

If you've ruled out the battery and refill, don't assume the device is faulty just yet.

A surprisingly common issue is that the refill hasn't been inserted fully. The IVG Pro relies on clean contact between the refill and the battery, so even a slight misalignment can prevent the device from working correctly.

Remove the refill and inspect both the refill and the connection inside the device before fitting it again. You should feel it sit securely into position without forcing it.

While you're doing this, it's also worth checking for condensation. A small amount of moisture around the connection is completely normal with pod systems, but excessive condensation can occasionally interfere with the electrical contact. Wiping the connection gently with a dry cotton bud or lint-free cloth is normally enough to resolve this.

If you've just installed a brand-new refill, remember that it also needs a little time before its first use. Allowing the refill to sit for a few minutes gives the mesh coil time to absorb the e-liquid properly, helping to prevent dry hits and ensuring the first puff tastes as it should.

Could the Device Itself Be the Problem?

Although it's less common, there are occasions where the rechargeable device may be responsible.

If your IVG Pro has been dropped onto a hard surface, exposed to water or has developed a charging fault, it's possible that the battery section has been damaged.

Some signs that point towards a device issue include:

  • It won't charge using a known working USB-C cable.
  • The charging indicator doesn't illuminate.
  • The device has visible physical damage.
  • Multiple new refills fail to work correctly.

Rechargeable batteries also lose efficiency over time. If you've used the same IVG Pro for an extended period and you've already tried fresh refills without success, replacing the device may be the most practical solution.

How to Prevent Common IVG Pro Problems

Looking after your IVG Pro doesn't require much effort, but a few simple habits can make a noticeable difference to both reliability and overall performance.

Keeping the battery charged before it becomes completely flat helps reduce unnecessary strain on the battery, while replacing refills once performance begins to decline prevents burnt tastes and inconsistent vapour production.

It's also worth keeping the connection between the refill and the battery clean. A quick wipe every so often removes condensation and helps maintain a reliable electrical connection.

Finally, store your IVG Pro somewhere cool and dry whenever possible. Leaving any rechargeable vape in excessive heat, direct sunlight or damp conditions can affect both battery performance and the lifespan of the device.

These small habits take very little time but can help keep your IVG Pro performing consistently for much longer.

Final Thoughts

If your IVG Pro has stopped working, try not to assume the worst. In our experience, the vast majority of issues are resolved by charging the battery, replacing an empty refill or making sure the refill has been installed correctly.

Taking a few minutes to work through these checks can often save you replacing a device that still has plenty of life left in it.
